Planet Fitness Hours: Open & Close Times, 24-Hour & Holiday Hours by Location
Planet Fitness does not have one set of club hours. About 90% of its 2,930 clubs are run by independent business owners, and each club sets its own schedule. In the seven clubs we checked across seven states, three were open 24 hours every day, three were open around the clock from Monday morning to Friday evening with shorter weekend hours, and one Brooklyn club closed every night. Check your club's own page before you go.
Why Planet Fitness Hours Vary by Location
Planet Fitness does not keep one national schedule. Each store sets its own hours, and stores in malls, outlet centers and downtown districts often open later or close earlier than the rest.
Based on Planet Fitness investor releases and Google Maps listings of seven clubs (October 25, 2026).

Planet Fitness Hours Today: Three Patterns We Found
Planet Fitness's own club pages block automated checks from our servers, so we read the opening hours that seven clubs publish on their Google Maps listings on October 25, 2026. Those listings are maintained by the clubs themselves and can lag behind a recent change, so treat them as examples, not guarantees.

The first group, three clubs, was open 24/7. The second group, three clubs, ran what gyms call a 24/5 schedule: open around the clock for most of the work week, closing Friday evening and reopening early Monday or Saturday morning. The Brooklyn club, in a dense city neighborhood, kept a conventional day-time schedule with 5 AM and 11 PM bounds.
Is Planet Fitness Open 24 Hours?
Many clubs are, but not all, and "24 hours" often means 24 hours on weekdays only. Two 2026 grand-opening announcements show how new clubs are set up: a club in Waterford, Michigan was announced as open 24 hours Monday through Friday and 7 AM to 10 PM on Saturday and Sunday, while a Detroit club at Harbortown was announced as open 5 AM to 11 PM on weekdays and 7 AM to 10 PM on weekends.
Planet Fitness describes its clubs as typically 20,000 square feet with no pools, group classes or juice bars, in an annual report filed with the SEC. A simple format and independent owners are why a club's hours can be tuned to its neighborhood, from a student-heavy 24/7 gym to an urban club that shuts at night.
Planet Fitness Saturday and Sunday Hours
- 24/7 clubs stay open all weekend; three of our seven were in this group.
- Clubs on a weekday-24 schedule usually open between 5 and 7 AM on Saturday and Sunday.
- Weekend closing was between 7 and 9 PM at the clubs we checked and 10 PM at both clubs from the grand-opening announcements.
- Saturday and Sunday hours were identical at every club that is not 24/7.
Friday evening is the other transition to watch. At the 24/5 clubs the doors closed at 9 or 10 PM on Friday, so a late Friday workout at a club that looks like it is always open may not be possible.
Planet Fitness Holiday Hours: Thanksgiving, Christmas and July 4
Planet Fitness does not publish a single holiday schedule for its clubs, and its investor releases do not mention one. Because owners set their own hours, holiday closures and early closings vary by club. Third-party sites make firm claims, for example that all clubs close on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, but we could not confirm any of them from an official Planet Fitness source.
Planet Fitness Black Card Hours and Membership Access
A PF Black Card membership gives access to all clubs, a guest on each visit, and exclusive areas such as massage beds and chairs, tanning, and hot and cold recovery lounges, according to Planet Fitness's annual report. Those amenities are available during the home club's regular hours, so if you use a different club on the road, its hours are what matter.
The company reports about 21.5 million members and 2,930 clubs in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada, Panama, Mexico, Australia and Spain as of June 30, 2026. It was founded in 1992 in Dover, New Hampshire, where we checked the first of our sample clubs.
How to Confirm Your Club's Hours Before You Go
- Open your club's page from the gym locator on planetfitness.com; it lists the club's own weekly hours.
- Check the Planet Fitness app, which shows the hours for your home club.
- Call the club for holiday hours; owners post changes at the front desk first.
- If you travel, check the specific club you will visit, not your home club: a 24/7 club in one city does not mean the next one is.
