Ace Hardware Hours: Open & Close Times, Sunday & Holiday Hours by Location
Ace Hardware has no national store schedule. Each store is locally owned and sets its own hours, and the store pages we read on acehardware.com on October 25, 2026 ranged from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays with Sunday closed (Haines, Alaska) to 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM seven days a week (Martinez, California). Look up your own store; these examples show the spread, not a chain-wide rule.
Why Ace Hardware Hours Vary by Location
Ace Hardware does not keep one national schedule. Each store sets its own hours, and stores in malls, outlet centers and downtown districts often open later or close earlier than the rest.

Seven stores are enough to show there is no typical week to quote. Opening times landed between 7:00 and 10:00 AM, weekday closings between 5:00 and 7:00 PM, and Sunday anywhere from closed to a full day.
Is Ace Hardware Open on Sunday?
It depends on the owner. Of the seven stores in the table, two (Haines and Stuttgart) were closed on Sunday, four were open for between eight and nine hours, and the Barrow, Alaska store opened at 10:00 AM and closed at 6:00 PM every day of the week.
What Time Does Ace Hardware Open and Close?
Early openings are common at stores that serve contractors and trades. The Andrews Ace Hardware in Saraland, Alabama opens at 6:30 AM on weekdays, and several California stores open at 7:00 AM. Smaller-town and lumberyard-style stores close earlier, at 5:00 or 5:30 PM, while suburban stores in larger markets tend to stay open until 7:00 PM or later.
Each page shows a live line at the top, such as "Closed • Opens at 8:00AM MON," which is the quickest way to answer the question for the current moment.
Ace Hardware Saturday Hours
Saturday is where some owners trim. Stuttgart, Arkansas closes at 4:00 PM, two hours before its weekday-evening neighbors in California, while Martinez keeps the same 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM schedule it runs on weekdays. Only the Fort Bragg store opens an hour later on Saturday than during the week.
- Shortest Saturday we read: Stuttgart, AR, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Longest Saturday we read: Martinez, CA, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, a 12-hour day.
- Four of the seven Saturdays ended at 6:00 PM.
Planning a Trip to Ace Hardware Before Closing Time
For a weekend project, the safest plan is to confirm two numbers before you leave: when the store closes today and when it opens tomorrow. Stores that close at 5:00 PM leave a short window after work, and the lumber-yard style stores in our sample that close earliest also tended to be closed on Sunday.
Ace Hardware Holiday Hours: Thanksgiving, Christmas and July 4
Ace Hardware does not publish a company-wide holiday schedule that we could find, and none of the store pages we read carried holiday hours on October 25, 2026. Because owners set the calendar, Thanksgiving, Christmas and the summer holidays are decided store by store.
- Check the store page in the days before the holiday; owners who change hours generally post the change there.
- Call the number on the store page for the Thanksgiving and Christmas weekends.
- Treat a stated Sunday closure as a likely holiday-weekend closure too, but verify it.
What an Ace Hardware Store Page Tells You
Beyond the weekly hours, each page lists the store's address, phone number, department list and, at many stores, the owner and manager names. The Barrow store, for example, lists departments including electrical, plumbing, paint and sundries, sporting goods and hand and power tools. Some pages carry a "Pinnacle Elite Retailer" banner, which Ace describes as its highest store recognition for customer experience and operational excellence.
Departments and services also differ by owner, so a full-service lumber and building-materials store will not offer the same counters as a neighborhood store.
Ace Hardware Hours Compared With Big-Box Home Stores
Big-box chains publish a standard week and apply it nearly everywhere. Ace is the opposite: you are choosing a local business, and its week reflects the town it serves. That is why a trip planned on one store's Sunday hours can fail at another.
How to Find Hours for Your Ace Hardware Store
- Open acehardware.com/store-directory and pick your state; the directory links to a page for each store.
- On the store page, read the three-line weekly table: Mon – Fri, Sat and Sun.
- Use the phone number on the page for same-day closures or weather changes.
- If you see a short "performing security verification" screen, wait a few seconds; the site uses a bot check that clears on its own.
