Harbor Freight Hours: Today’s Open & Close Times, Sunday & Holiday Hours

Harbor Freight Hours Today: 8 AM to 8 PM, Sunday 9 AM to 6 PM

Harbor Freight is one of the few large tool retailers that sets store hours from headquarters instead of leaving them to each manager.

The store directory on harborfreight.com states the schedule in one line: stores are open seven days a week, 8 AM to 8 PM from Monday to Saturday and 9 AM to 6 PM on Sunday. The store pages we opened in Abilene, Texas and Anaheim, California list exactly those times, day by day, and a newsroom notice about a store that opened in Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 29, 2026 gives the same hours.

That gives each store 72 hours a week from Monday to Saturday plus nine on Sunday, 81 in total. Because the times are local, an 8 PM close in Arizona happens two hours after an 8 PM close in Ohio, but the clock on the door reads the same.

Harbor Freight Sunday Hours and Saturday Hours

Saturday is a full 8 AM to 8 PM day, identical to a weekday, which makes it the longest weekend window for a parts or tool run. Sunday is the short day: doors open an hour later, at 9 AM, and close two hours earlier, at 6 PM.

What Time Does Harbor Freight Open and Close?

• Opening time: 8:00 AM Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM on Sunday.
• Closing time: 8:00 PM Monday through Saturday, 6:00 PM on Sunday.
• Earliest weekly opening: any weekday or Saturday at 8 AM.
• Latest closing: 8 PM, six nights a week. No Harbor Freight store we checked stays open later, and the company does not run 24-hour stores.

If you are heading in near closing time for something heavy, such as a generator, a rolling tool chest or a welder, plan for the checkout and loading to take a few minutes. Large items are often stored in the back of the store, so arriving well before 8 PM, or before 6 PM on a Sunday, avoids a rushed pickup.

Harbor Freight Holiday Hours: Christmas Eve to New Year's Day

Harbor Freight announces holiday hours through its newsroom in December. The last two notices we found, from December 2022 and December 2023, followed the same pattern.

The pattern is consistent: the store opens at its normal time for that weekday on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve and closes three hours early, at 5 PM. Christmas Day is the one day in the calendar when every store is closed. New Year's Day ran on Sunday hours both times, even when it fell on a Monday.

In 2026 Christmas Eve falls on a Thursday and New Year's Eve on the following Thursday. If Harbor Freight repeats its pattern, both days would run from 8 AM to 5 PM, with New Year's Day 2027 (a Friday) from 9 AM to 6 PM. Treat that as an expectation until the 2026 notice appears.

Is Harbor Freight Open on Thanksgiving and Black Friday?

Harbor Freight has not published Thanksgiving or Black Friday hours in its newsroom, and its store pages did not list special hours for November 26 or 27, 2026 when we checked on October 25. We are not going to guess: call your store or check its page in the week before Thanksgiving.

Finding Your Harbor Freight Store and Its Page

The store directory at harborfreight.com/storelocator/store-directory lists stores by state; Alaska, Hawaii and Washington, D.C. have no store. Each store page carries a store number (Abilene is store 67, Anaheim store 433) along with its address, phone number and the seven-day hours table.

The chain keeps growing: Harbor Freight's newsroom reports new stores almost every week in 2026, and its September 29 Fort Wayne opening release counted more than 1,600 stores nationwide, 42 of them in Indiana. A brand-new store opens on the same 8-to-8 and Sunday 9-to-6 schedule as the rest.

Harbor Freight Hours Compared With Home Depot and Lowe's

Harbor Freight stores are smaller than big-box home centers and open later in the morning. Contractors who need materials at dawn usually go to a home center first, then pick up tools, jacks or shop supplies at Harbor Freight once it opens at 8 AM. On Sunday evening the 6 PM close is earlier than at most home centers.
