Macy's Hours: Today’s Open & Close Times, Holiday & Sunday Hours

Macy's Store Hours Today: Opening and Closing Times

Macy's posts weekly hours on each store's page. We compared the flagship in New York with mall stores in Texas, California, Illinois and Georgia.

Weekday hours barely change across the country: every store in our sample runs 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM from Monday to Thursday. The differences show up on Friday night, when Herald Square stays open until 10:00 PM, and on Sunday evening, when closing time ranges from 7:00 PM in Houston and San Diego to 9:00 PM in Manhattan.

Macy's Sunday Hours

Sunday is the one day Macy's opens late. All five stores we checked open at 11:00 AM on Sunday, an hour after the weekday opening. Closing time is less predictable: the Houston and San Diego mall stores close at 7:00 PM, Chicago's State Street store and Atlanta's Cumberland Mall store at 8:00 PM, and Herald Square at 9:00 PM.

Because Sunday closing time differs from store to store, the store page is the safest check before an evening visit. The page shows the whole week, so you can compare Sunday with Saturday at a glance.

Macy's Herald Square Hours in New York

The Herald Square store at 151 West 34th Street is open 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Thursday, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Sunday. Its phone number is (212) 695-4400.

The flagship also runs its own holiday events. For the 2026 season, Macy's advertises Breakfast with Santa at the Stella 34 Trattoria restaurant inside the store on Saturdays and Sundays starting in November, with tickets sold in advance.

Is Macy's Open on Thanksgiving? Black Friday Hours

No. The holiday-hours data on Macy's store pages marks November 26, 2026 as closed at every store we checked. That means the first in-store Black Friday shopping happens on Friday, November 27.

Macy's had not yet added a Black Friday opening time to its store pages when we checked in October. Holiday overrides appear on each store's page as the date gets closer, so look again during Thanksgiving week.

Macy's Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Hours

Only Thanksgiving and Christmas Day were marked as closed in October. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve hours are typically added to each store page in December, so check your store's page in the days before.

Macy's Curbside Pickup Hours

Curbside pickup closes earlier than the store. At the Houston Willowbrook Mall store, curbside runs 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday. At State Street in Chicago it runs 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sunday.

Is Macy's Open on Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day?

Macy's store pages did not list Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day or Labor Day as closed. Department stores usually treat Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day as major sale days, so expect regular or close-to-regular hours, but confirm on your store's page because Easter Sunday hours in particular follow the Sunday schedule or shorter.

How Many Macy's Stores Are There, and Where?

Before you drive to a Macy's you have not visited in a while, confirm that the location is still listed. In October 2026 the Macy's store directory listed about 435 stores. California has by far the most, with 77, followed by Texas with 30 and New York with 29. Puerto Rico has two stores and Guam has one.

If your local store does not appear in the directory, it has most likely closed. The directory groups stores by city, and each store page carries the address, phone number and the week's hours, so a quick look there settles whether a trip is worth it.

How to Find Hours at the Macy's Near You

• Go to the Macy's store directory and pick your state. The directory lists roughly 435 stores, including a few in Puerto Rico and Guam.
• Open the store page; weekly hours, curbside hours and any holiday overrides are listed there.
• Use the store's phone number on that page for questions about a specific department or restaurant.
