There is no single YMCA schedule, because each Y is run by a local association that sets its own hours. On the 17 branch pages with hours that we read at ymca.org on November 1, 2026, weekdays opened between 5 AM and 7 AM and closed between 6 PM and 10 PM, Saturday ran roughly 7 AM to 5 PM, and five branches were closed all day Sunday. No branch page posted holiday hours.
Why YMCA Hours Vary by Location
YMCA does not keep one national schedule. Each store sets its own hours, and stores in malls, outlet centers and downtown districts often open later or close earlier than the rest.

YMCA Hours Today: 17 Branches in 10 Metro Areas
Every branch page on ymca.org has an Hours of Operation block, a Facilities list and a Programs list. We read branches in Chicago, Evanston, Dallas, Atlanta, Seattle, New York, Brooklyn, Denver, Boston, Phoenix, Minneapolis and Los Angeles, which makes ten metro areas.

Two other branch pages, the YMCA at Morehouse School of Medicine and YMCA of the North, had no hours field at all, and searches for Miami, Florida and Columbus, Ohio returned no branches on ymca.org. For those places, the local Y's own website is the next stop.
Why Every YMCA Has Different Hours
The YMCA is not a chain with one corporate schedule. Each Y is an independent local association, and the search results on ymca.org show only a branch's name, address and phone, with a Visit Website link that leads to that local Y's own site. The hours you read on a branch page belong to the association that runs it.
That explains the spread we saw. The Atlanta youth branch opened at 7 AM and closed at 6 PM, while the downtown Denver branch ran 5:30 AM to 10 PM. A branch in the same city can differ too: in Dallas, T. Boone Pickens opened at 5:30 AM and Park South at 6 AM, and the two had different Friday closings.
New York showed the opposite case. McBurney in Manhattan and Greenpoint in Brooklyn posted identical weeks, 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM on weekdays and 8 AM to 3 PM on Saturday and Sunday, so two branches in one city can also share a schedule. Seeing one branch's hours is a useful clue about its neighbors, but never a guarantee.
What Time Does the YMCA Open and Close on Weekdays?
Opening was the most consistent part of the week. Of the 17 branches, three opened at 5 AM, six at 5:30 AM, five at 6 AM, two at 6:30 AM and one at 7 AM. Closing was wider: the Atlanta youth branch closed at 6 PM Monday to Friday, while Denver Downtown stayed open until 10 PM.
- 5 AM openers: McGaw in Evanston, Schlessman in Denver and Ketchum-Downtown in Los Angeles.
- 5:30 AM openers: T. Boone Pickens, Downtown Denver, Charlestown, Lincoln Family and Chris-Town in Phoenix, and the Minneapolis branch.
- Friday closings ran from 6 PM at Park South in Dallas and the Atlanta youth branch to 10 PM at Wang in Boston and Downtown Denver.
- Wang in Chinatown was the only branch we read that kept the doors open an hour later on Friday than from Monday to Thursday.
In Chicago, Lake View posted 6 AM to 9 PM Monday through Thursday and trimmed Friday to 8 PM. Six other branches (Park South, Schlessman, Charlestown, Lincoln Family, Chris-Town and Gaviidae) also closed an hour or more earlier on Friday than on Thursday, so check the Friday line before a late workout.
YMCA Saturday Hours
Saturday opening was mostly 7 or 8 AM, and closing ranged from noon to 6 PM. Downtown Seattle and Weingart-East in Los Angeles both closed at noon, while McGaw in Evanston and Downtown Denver stayed open until 6 PM.
The Atlanta youth branch was closed on Saturday as well as Sunday, the only branch we read that posted no weekend hours at all. Branches in Phoenix and Minneapolis opened at 7 AM and closed at 2 or 3 PM, which leaves a short window if your weekend plans start late.
Is the YMCA Open on Sunday?
At 12 of the 17 branches, yes, but Sunday is the day that varies most. Five branches were closed all day: Atlanta's youth branch, Downtown Seattle, Lincoln Family in Phoenix, the Minneapolis Gaviidae branch and Weingart-East in Los Angeles.
Both Dallas branches opened at 1 PM on Sunday and closed at 5 PM. Chris-Town in Phoenix opened at 7 AM and shut at 2 PM, and Downtown Denver ran 10 AM to 5 PM. Sunday openings ranged from 7 AM to 1 PM across the branches that were open.
YMCA Pool and Child Watch Hours
Branch pages carry a Facilities list that can include a pool, fitness center, child watch, sauna, gym, racquetball and early childhood center, and some list residence rooms. A Programs list covers areas such as aquatics, camping and before-school and after-school care.
The Hours of Operation block is the building's schedule. The pages we read did not show separate times for the pool, for child watch or for individual programs, so a swim lesson or a child watch window may run on a narrower schedule than the doors.
YMCA Holiday Hours: Thanksgiving, Christmas and July 4
None of the branch pages we read posted holiday hours, and ymca.org has no holiday field for branches. Because each association sets its own calendar, one Y may close on Thanksgiving or Christmas Day while another runs a reduced schedule, and we did not confirm either for any branch.

- Call the front desk for the exact opening and closing times on the day.
- Ask separately about the pool, child watch and group classes, which may follow a different holiday plan.
