Hobby Lobby Hours: Today’s Open & Close Times, Holiday & Sunday Hours

Hobby Lobby Hours Today: Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 8 PM

Hobby Lobby is one of the few national retailers that publishes a single schedule for every store, in a holiday-hours notice on its own newsroom.

Doors open at 9:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM, six days a week, from Monday to Saturday. Because the schedule is set nationally, a Hobby Lobby in a small Texas town keeps the same hours as one in suburban Chicago or Atlanta, which is rare for a chain of this size.

Time zones are the only thing that shifts the clock: 8:00 PM closing means 8:00 PM local time at each store.

Is Hobby Lobby Open on Sunday?

No. Every Hobby Lobby store is closed on Sunday, all year, including the busy Sundays before Christmas. The company's own holiday-hours notice lists Sunday as closed for all stores, so there is no exception to look for.

Why Hobby Lobby Closes at 8 PM and Stays Closed on Sunday

The early close is a deliberate company policy rather than a local decision. In an October 5, 2026 announcement from its Oklahoma City headquarters, Hobby Lobby founder and CEO David Green said the company has for decades closed its stores on Sundays and at 8:00 PM the rest of the week so employees have time for rest, family and worship.

That same announcement raised the company's minimum full-time hourly wage to $21.00 from October 5, 2026. For shoppers the practical result is simple: no Hobby Lobby will be open past 8:00 PM on a regular evening, so evening craft runs need to start earlier than they would at a mall store.

Hobby Lobby Holiday Hours: Thanksgiving to New Year's

These are the times Hobby Lobby published for the 2025–26 holiday season. The 2025 notice was posted on November 3; we will update this table when the 2026 version appears.

The Black Friday weekend is the only time of year Hobby Lobby extends its hours, opening an hour earlier and staying open an hour later on Friday and Saturday. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are short days, ending at 5:30 PM instead of 8:00 PM.

Is Hobby Lobby Open on Thanksgiving and Black Friday?

Hobby Lobby is closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026. On the Friday after Thanksgiving it opened at 8:00 AM and closed at 9:00 PM in 2025, and it kept the same 8-to-9 window on Saturday. If the 2026 notice follows the same pattern, Black Friday on November 27 will be an 8:00 AM opening.

Hobby Lobby Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Hours

On Christmas Eve, Hobby Lobby opens at the usual 9:00 AM and closes at 5:30 PM. Christmas Eve 2026 falls on a Thursday, so expect the same early close that evening. Stores are closed all day on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25, 2026, and reopen on Saturday with normal hours.

Hobby Lobby New Year's Eve and New Year's Day Hours

Unlike many retailers, Hobby Lobby opens on New Year's Day. For the 2025–26 season it set 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM on both New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. New Year's Day 2027 falls on a Friday, so a short shopping day is likely, but check the newsroom notice before you go.

Is Hobby Lobby Open on Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day?

Easter is always a Sunday, so Hobby Lobby is closed on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, like every other Sunday. The newsroom notice does not cover Memorial Day, Independence Day or Labor Day. Those fall on weekdays or Saturday in 2026 (July 4 is a Saturday), and Hobby Lobby did not list them as closures, but check your store's page before a holiday trip.

What You Can Shop at Hobby Lobby During Store Hours

Each store carries more than 80,000 crafting and home decor products, according to the company. Departments named in its newsroom include floral, fabric, needle art, custom framing, baskets, home accents, kitchen and bath, jewelry making, scrapbooking and paper crafting, hobbies, wedding and party supplies, and seasonal merchandise.

Custom framing and fabric cutting are handled at service counters inside the store, so they are only available while the store is open, Monday through Saturday.

When to Visit Hobby Lobby Before It Closes

• Weekday mornings after 9:00 AM are the calmest time for custom framing questions or fabric cutting, which need a staff member.
• Saturday is the last shopping day of the week, so expect more shoppers than on a weekday.
• On the two short holiday evenings, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, aim to be done well before the 5:30 PM close.
