PetSmart Hours: Today’s Open & Close Times, Sunday & Holiday Hours

PetSmart Hours Today: When PetSmart Opens and Closes

PetSmart shows a full week of hours on every store page, plus separate times for curbside pickup and each pet service.

The 9-to-9 weekday schedule with a shorter 10-to-7 Sunday is the pattern PetSmart uses at most stores. A store in a small Texas city and a store in downtown Chicago post exactly the same week, which makes PetSmart easier to plan around than most specialty chains.

Why Some PetSmart Stores Close at 8 PM

Not every location follows the 9:00 PM close. On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, PetSmart's city directories showed how the closing time splits:

Every store in those three cities opened at 9:00 AM; only the closing hour differed. Roughly one store in three closed at 8:00 PM, so an evening trip deserves a quick look at the store page first.

Each PetSmart store page shows that day's opening and closing time at the top, with the full week below it, which is the quickest way to check a store before a late visit.

PetSmart Sunday Hours

PetSmart opens an hour later on Sunday, at 10:00 AM, and closes at 7:00 PM at both stores whose full week we read. That is two hours earlier than the weekday close, so a Sunday evening run for dog food has a tighter window than on a Saturday.

PetSmart Curbside, In-Store Pickup and Same-Day Delivery

PetSmart offers three ways to get an online order: curbside pickup, in-store pickup and same-day delivery, all listed in the services menu on petsmart.com. Curbside has the narrowest window. At the Abilene and Chicago South Loop stores it runs every day from opening until 7:00 PM, which on weekdays is two hours before the doors close.

In-store pickup happens at the counter inside the store, so it is available for as long as the store is open. If you finish an order after 7:00 PM on a weekday, walking in to collect it is the only same-evening option. On Sunday the two windows meet, because the store and curbside both stop at 7:00 PM.

PetSmart Grooming Salon Hours

At both stores we checked, the grooming salon is listed as open until 9:00 PM, the same time the store closes on weekdays. Grooming works by appointment, so the salon's hours tell you how late an appointment can run rather than when you can walk in.

PetSmart's corporate site advertises grooming as open seven days a week. Book online or by calling the store, and confirm the time of the last appointment of the day.

PetsHotel and Doggie Day Camp Hours

Not every PetSmart has a PetsHotel. The Chicago South Loop store does, along with Doggie Day Camp, and lists both as open until 9:00 PM. The Abilene store offers grooming, training and adoptions but no hotel. The service icons at the top of each store page show which services that location has.

PetSmart's booking page for PetsHotel asks for check-in and check-out dates and times. Drop-off and pickup windows are set by each hotel, so look at them when you book.

PetSmart Training, Adoptions and Vet Hours

• Training: group classes meet at the same time each week for six weeks, and class days and times vary by store, according to PetSmart.
• Adoptions: listed as open until 7:00 PM at the stores we checked, two hours before the store closes on weekdays.
• Veterinary care: PetSmart says vet services are available in about 70% of its stores. Many are run by Banfield or other independently operated hospitals, which set their own hours.

Is PetSmart Open on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Other Holidays?

PetSmart does not publish a national holiday schedule. Every store page carries the note that service and holiday hours may vary, so the store page is the place to look. For Thanksgiving (November 26, 2026), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, open your store's page in the days before you go.

PetSmart Customer Service Hours and Store Count

PetSmart customer care is available at 888-839-9638 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM Eastern Time, seven days a week. The company is based in Phoenix, Arizona, and its store directory listed 1,534 stores in the United States in October 2026, including 149 in Texas.
