Petco Hours: Open & Close Times, Holiday & Sunday Hours by Location
Most Petco stores are open 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday, but Sunday hours depend on the store. Of 20 store pages we read on stores.petco.com on October 25, 2026, 17 listed 9-to-9 on weekdays and Saturday, and Sunday closing times ran from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Grooming salons and Vetco clinics post their own hours, and Petco told news outlets its stores were closed on Thanksgiving Day 2025.
Why Petco Hours Vary by Location
Petco does not keep one national schedule. Each store sets its own hours, and stores in malls, outlet centers and downtown districts often open later or close earlier than the rest.
Based on 20 Petco store pages on stores.petco.com, read on 2026-10-25, and a Petco spokesperson quoted by Fox Business in 2025.

Petco Hours Today: When Petco Opens and Closes
Petco's store directory at stores.petco.com gives every location its own page with a weekly table, a separate table for each service and a live open or closed line.
| Store | Mon – Sat | Sunday |
|---|---|---|
| Roseburg, OR | 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM | 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM |
| Franklin, TN | 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM | 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM |
| Cheyenne, WY | 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM | 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM |
| Houston, TX | 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM | 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM |
| Sacramento, CA | 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (all week) | 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM |
| San Diego, CA | Mon–Thu 9–9, Fri–Sat 8:30 AM – 9:30 PM | 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM |
The weekday schedule is steady, but the exceptions matter. The Sacramento store opens at 10:00 AM every day and closes at 7:00 PM, the San Diego store opens early on Friday and Saturday, and the Duluth, Georgia store opens at 10:00 AM on Monday and closes at 9:30 PM on Friday and Saturday.
What Time Does Petco Close on Sunday?
Petco is open on Sunday, but there is no single closing time. Across the 20 pages we read, the split was six stores at 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, six at 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, three at 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, three at 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and two outliers (Duluth, GA at 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM and San Diego at 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM).
Petco Grooming Hours: Why They Differ From Store Hours
Petco lists "Dog Grooming" as its own entry with its own hours. The usual pattern in our sample was 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, which means the salon closes hours before the shelves do.
| Store | Salon hours | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Roseburg, OR | Mon–Sat 8 AM – 6 PM, Sun 9 AM – 6 PM | Typical week |
| Houston, TX | Wednesday closed, other days 8 AM – 6 PM | One closed weekday |
| Wichita Falls, TX | Mon and Tue closed, Wed–Sat 8 AM – 4:30 PM | Shorter days |
| Pittsburgh, PA | Tue and Wed closed, Mon/Thu–Sat 8 AM – 4:30 PM | Two closed weekdays |
| Springfield, MO | Saturday opens 7 AM, other days 8 AM – 6 PM | Early Saturday |
| Sacramento, CA | No grooming entry on the page | Store without a salon |
Petco says a full grooming session takes about two to four hours, and quick services such as nail trims take about five minutes. Cat grooming is offered only at select locations, and the page asks owners to call the salon to schedule it.
Vetco Clinic and Animal Hospital Hours
Vetco vaccination clinics sit inside many Petco stores. At the stores we read, the clinic listing carried the same hours as the store. Full-service animal hospitals, which exist at only a few locations such as Chula Vista and San Diego, California and Clark, New Jersey, listed weekday and Saturday hours of roughly 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Clark) and were closed on Sunday.
Is Petco Open on Thanksgiving and Black Friday?
Petco stores were closed on Thanksgiving Day 2025. A company spokesperson told Fox Business that Petco would be closed and that most stores would open at 8:00 AM the next morning for Black Friday; other outlets reported the same confirmation. Petco.com stayed open on Thanksgiving, though orders placed that day might not ship until the following day.
We found no 2026 announcement when we checked on October 25, so the November 26 closure and the November 27 opening time are the expected pattern, not a published schedule. Black Friday closing times were not part of the statement.
Petco Christmas, New Year's and Other Holiday Hours
Petco's store pages did not show holiday hours on the day we read them, and we found no official Petco statement for Christmas, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day or Labor Day. Third-party guides say Christmas Day is a closed day and that store managers have some latitude over other holidays, but none of them cite a company document.
- Open your store page a week before the holiday; Petco's store pages are where special hours appear first.
- Call the store if you need grooming or a clinic visit around a holiday, because those services keep their own calendars.
- Mall-based and city stores can follow building hours, so do not assume a suburban store's schedule applies.
Petco Curbside Pickup, Same-Day Delivery and Adoptions
Petco store pages list curbside pickup for products marked as eligible for store pickup, and Petco's site menu offers same-day delivery. The pages we read did not publish separate curbside time windows, so assume pickup follows the store schedule and check the order confirmation.
Petco does not sell dogs or cats in its stores. The Roseburg page says Petco partners with local animal welfare groups through the Petco Love program to offer adoptions at select stores, either in adoption habitats or at scheduled events, and recommends contacting your store for current availability.
Petco vs PetSmart Hours
PetSmart's pages showed a very uniform week, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sunday. Petco matches the weekday part at most stores but is more varied on Sunday and at the edges, and its grooming and clinic hours are posted separately.
How to Check Your Petco's Hours

- Use the phone number on the page for same-day questions about a salon or clinic.
- Re-check before holidays: the live "Open" line updates when a store changes its schedule.
